Kristy graduated from the College of St Catherine – St Paul with a degree in Occupational Science with a minor in gerontology. She has worked with older adults for 16 years as an Activity Director and enjoys bringing joy and happiness to everyone she meets. She looks forward to bringing her compassion and knowledge to Applewood Pointe of Bloomington at Valley West. She values their wisdom and enjoys inspiring and empowering seniors to continue setting goals and dreams. She believes it’s a new stage of opportunity and growth and should be enjoyed, so memories can continue to be made. Kristy currently lives in St. Paul and has one son who is serving in the Army. She enjoys crafting, woodworking, the outdoors, yoga, and spending time with Leo, her Golden Retriever, down by the river or park.
Jim has been serving in his maintenance role since December 2016. He has degrees in corporate and adult fitness as well as building inspection and technology. He grew up in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin due to transfers with his father’s job. His mom loved working with people and passed that on to Jim and his siblings. His mom’s loss of sight and battle with Alzheimer’s gave Jim an opportunity to become a caregiver and develop his love for seniors. He loves learning about their pasts and believes that the seniors he serves are like his adopted grandparents.
Bridget has been in her housekeeper role with Applewood Pointe of Bloomington at Valley West since October 2015. She began working with seniors when she was 16 at Martin Luther Manor where she worked in the kitchen. She then worked in the hearing aid industry for 35 years but later decided to return to her passion for cleaning. She loves working with and for seniors. She has learned so much from them and believes each person is a gift in her life. She has too many hobbies to name but has a passion for cats and big dogs.
